Dr. Jart+ Dermaclear Micro Gel Cleanser

My love for the Dr. Jart+ sheet masks led me to try their Dermaclear Micro Gel Cleanser. I had just finished the Ole Henriksen Oil Control Cleanser after using Dermalogica Dermal Clay Cleanser for years, and I thought, "Why not try a new cleanser?!" And now....here we are.

I wish I loved it. Sounds like a 90s/early 2000s long song. I really wanted to love it. The product claims enticed me and the reviews were the trigger. And so I bought it.

Claims straight from the Sephora website are...
"Dermaclear Micro Gentle Gel Cleanser is a gel-to-foam cleanser with moisturizing capsules that remove all makeup—even waterproof makeup—and impurities in pores without stripping the skin of moisture. The all-in-one cleanser works to visibly brighten, tone, and soften skin for a refreshed and healthy complexion. Formulated for all skin types and tested by dermatologists, it is safe for the eye area and lips."

Personal Review:

Week 1:  I did not use any makeup cleansing water prior to washing my face with the cleanser. I did this to see how much it would actually move of my makeup. Final thoughts on that... it did OK. It broke the makeup down but felt that it did not remove the makeup. I had mad raccoon eyes and foundation residue.

Week 2:  I used a cleansing water before to remove makeup to compare how it cleansed my face. I felt that it did not brightened, toned, or softened my skin. I actually felt that my skin wasn't fully cleaned.

Week 3: I had my first minor breakout in... years? ::Insert N'SYNC's "Bye, bye, bye":: It's highly probable that my skin just needs a stronger cleanser. This may have been just too gentle for me.

This, for me, is a hard pass. I hate to return things but I definitely feel that this was just not for me.
